NHS league tables 'unfair' to rural trusts, claims low-ranking health system

NHS league tables fail to account for the unique challenges facing rural health systems, according to one of the lowest-ranked trusts in the government's new performance rankings.

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC), which placed fifth worst among England's acute trusts, said its position "reflects the real structural challenges we face as a rural, remote health system" rather than poor care quality.
