University Hospital Southampton has drastically slashed appointments and waiting times using digital technology, earning praise from health secretary Wes Streeting as a model for the new "online NHS hospital".

Gastroenterology consultant Dr Markus Gwiggner said that digitally-led changes have revolutionised care for thousands of patients – and could help many more if rolled out more widely.
