NHS trial to test liver disease screening in 42,000 GP patients

A trial of GP-screening for liver disease is being launched in the NHS to diagnose more patients at an earlier stage when treatment and prevention is possible.

In all 42,000 patients around the country will be screened for early signs of liver disease using three tests to assess the best way to detect the condition.
