No evidence ‘medical professionals’ term has 'prejudiced patient safety', GMC tells High Court

There is "simply no evidence” that using the term "medical professionals" to include doctors and associates has caused a patient safety issue or confusion, the General Medical Council has argued at the High Court.

The regulator was responding to the case brought by the British Medical Association which relates to the GMC’s decision to apply its core guidance for doctors to associate roles, and its use of "medical professionals" as a collective term.
