No UK studies look at safety of PAs, review finds

There is no UK-based research which directly examines the safety of the clinical decisions and actions taken by physician associates, a systematic literature review has found.

An absence of evidence of safety incidents in a small number of studies available appears to have been “misinterpreted” by policymakers to mean there are no safety issues – an error which is “likely to cost lives”, according to the paper’s author.
