Number of A&E patients who could be treated elsewhere is small – review

The number of patients in A&E departments who could be treated elsewhere is much smaller than expected, an internal NHS review suggests.

An NHS England report seen by the Health Service Journal (HSJ) found just 4% of patients in emergency care are “low acuity”.
