PA group considers legal challenge against royal college

An organisation representing physician associates has taken what it calls the “extraordinary step” of considering a direct legal challenge against the Royal College of General Practitioners.

UMAPs Ltd (soon to be rebranded as the Medical Associate Congress), which hosts the forming trade union United Medical Associate Professionals (UMAPs) and the College of Medical Associate Professionals (CMAPs), is responding to the RCGP’s scope of practice which suggests restrictions on what the PA role can do.
