Palliative care already saves NHS £817m a year – expanding it could save millions more and 'solve key problems'

Specialist palliative care saved the NHS £817 million in 2022 whilst improving patient outcomes – but less than half of those who might benefit currently receive it, according to a new analysis.

Researchers say their economic modelling suggests expanding services could save millions more and help solve key system problems facing the NHS.
