PAs should be banned from seeing untriaged patients, review finds

Physician associates should not see patients who haven't been triaged to prevent the risk of “catastrophic” misdiagnoses, a government-commissioned review has found.

The report recommended the change after it acknowledged the role has been used as a substitute for doctors, despite having significantly less training.
