Giving iron intravenously before colorectal surgery reduces the need for blood transfusion by 33%, British researchers report.

Researchers from UCL and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, carried out meta-analysis of five randomised controlled trials, focusing on a subset of patients who had undergone bowel surgery.
