Puberty suppressing hormones will no longer be prescribed to young patients, NHS says

There is not enough evidence "to support the safety or clinical effectiveness puberty suppressing hormones (PSH) to make the treatment routinely available" for children and adolescents, NHS England has said.

The use of PSH in adolescence to suppress puberty has previously been a treatment option though no NHS clinical commissioning policy has been in place. Fewer than 100 young people are currently on puberty blockers.
