Radiotherapy after mastectomy for early breast cancer doesn’t increase survival, study finds

Many early-stage breast cancer patients who have had a mastectomy and are taking anti-cancer medication can safely avoid radiotherapy, a study suggests.

An international trial led by the University of Edinburgh found that patients with intermediate-risk cancer had similar 10-year survival rates whether or not they received radiotherapy.
