Rapid 48-hour scan window critical for ED patients with blood in urine

One in ten emergency patients with visible blood in their urine die within three months of presenting at emergency departments, according to major new research showing that early scanning could dramatically improve survival rates.

The WASHOUT study found that conducting a scan within 48 hours of arrival could reduce this risk whilst ensuring patients with cancer are diagnosed significantly faster.
