RCGP asks practices to freeze physician associate recruitment

Recruiting new physician associates (PAs) in general practice should be halted, the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) has announced following a major consultation with members.

There were a number of “concerning findings” including around patient safety and supervision of PAs in the responses from more than 5,000 GPs, the college said.
