Actively monitoring cervical lesions – rather than removing them straight away – is associated with an increased long-term risk of cervical cancer, although absolute risk remains low, according to a new study.
Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) is divided into grades - CIN1, 2 or 3, with the higher the number, the more severe the case and the higher the risk of progression to cancer is, researchers say.
