Researchers pinpoint genetic cause of a severe childhood epilepsy

UK researchers have helped discover a genetic cause underpinning a severe form of childhood epilepsy that they believe could affect thousands of people.

Writing in Nature Genetics, the team explained they have so far diagnosed 84 children with ecessive RNU2-2-related neurodevelopmental disorder, which is associated with seizures and severe developmental delay in children that usually begins in the first year of life.
