Resident doctor fears for ‘uncertain future’ amid training bottleneck

Medical training in the UK appears to have reached breaking point with the British Medical Association estimating that 20,000 doctors could be denied access to their chosen specialty this year. 

With increasing competition for non-training jobs, those who have missed out also fear being unemployed by the autumn when they are released from their fixed-term contracts.
