Senior doctor struck off after indecent child images conviction

A former NHS England director and senior GP, who downloaded hundreds of indecent images of children, has been struck off the medical register.

Following a police investigation Dr Robert Varnam, from Manchester, admitted a number of charges relating to indecent images of children. He was convicted at Manchester Crown Court last May.
