Short social media detox linked to better mental health in young adults

Reducing social media use for just one week has been linked to measurable improvements in mental health among young adults.

In the US study, 295 people aged between 18 and 24 years took part in a seven-day “detox”, after which symptoms of anxiety dropped by 16%, depression by 25%, and insomnia by 15%.
