Statin use reduces liver cancer risk, long-term study suggests

A study has found further evidence that statin use is linked to a significantly reduced risk of liver cancer and worsening of liver disease.

Over 10 years, 3.8% of participants taking statins developed liver cancer, compared to 8.0% of those not taking statins.1 This equates to a 33% relative reduction in the risk of liver cancer, when adjusted for other risk factors.
