Health secretary Wes Streeting has unveiled a fresh package of measures aimed at ending the dispute with resident doctors, including 4,000 additional specialty training posts and emergency legislation to prioritise UK medical graduates.

The Government's offer, announced on Wednesday 10 December, comes as resident doctors prepare for strikes scheduled to begin on 17 December. The British Medical Association will now consult its members on whether the package is sufficient to call off the industrial action.
