Stricter checks on weight loss jabs ‘adding pressure to GPs’

There are concerns that new rules requiring more stringent checks on patients requesting private weight loss jabs are adding to the workload pressures on GPs.

The General Pharmaceutical Council now requires all online pharmacies to strengthen safeguards to ensure Wegovy (semaglutide) and Mounjaro (tirzepatide) are prescribed appropriately.¹
