Study looks at accelerated onset of age-related diseases in childhood cancer survivors

Survivors of childhood cancer may experience accelerated ageing, with a greater lifetime risk of life-threatening chronic health conditions, a study has suggested.

By the age of 65, over half of the 22,585 survivors in the study developed at least one chronic health condition, almost a three-fold increase in risk compared with the general population.1
