The former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has added his voice to the calls for a national prostate cancer screening programme, saying thousands of lives could be saved as a result of targeted measures.

Sunak, who was recently made Prostate Cancer Research ambassador, said during Prime Minister's Questions: “We made progress towards this [a screening programme] in government but yet there is more to do, which is why I’m delighted to have joined Prostate Cancer Research, the charity, as an ambassador."
