Surgical robots learn by ‘watching’ videos of doctors operating

Researchers have for the first time used AI to train a surgical robot by getting it to ‘watch’ videos of experienced human doctors performing procedures.

It paves the way for imitation learning to finesse the skills of surgical robots rather than having to programme each individual move it needs to make, they said.
