Hundreds of GP registrars in England could be without jobs when they qualify later this summer as the GP "unemployment crisis" worsens, the British Medical Association has warned the government.

GPs struggling for work have been forced to take on non-clinical work, leave the NHS altogether - and some are considering accessing employment benefits, the BMA said.
