Updated advice for contacts of Hib disease cases

A change to the guidelines on haemophilus influenzae serotype b (Hib) disease means that now, the patient and each member of their household should be offered preventative antibiotics.

In a new publication, the UK Health Security Agency outlines the change and explains that Hib disease can cause severe life-threatening disease in healthy individuals.1
