The next government needs to “look after and retain doctors” if it is to improve the nation’s health and ensure high-quality treatment is readily available, the British Medical Association has said.
The doctors’ union has published its own manifesto, Patients need doctors, setting out five areas for the next government to commit to, which include valuing the role of doctors by restoring pay, ensuring there are enough training posts, funding services needed for the future of the health service, and prioritising preventative care.
