Variation from guidelines found in first-line rheumatoid arthritis treatment

A large UK-based study has indicated that medical practice may not have fully embraced the latest evidence on rheumatoid arthritis prescribing.

Its findings suggest that the gap between clinical guidelines and prescribing behaviours in real practice persists, "due to historic beliefs regarding methotrexate and lung disease".1
