Weekly insulin injection for diabetes ‘as effective’ as daily – study

One long-acting injection a week for the treatment of type 1 diabetes might be as effective as daily injections, British researchers have reported.

A study has compared once-weekly injections with a novel, long-acting analogue of human insulin called insulin icodec with the form designed for daily use, insulin degludec.
